Oláh Gábor Street Sports Complex | Sports hall, Gábor Oláh Street

The sports hall in Gábor Oláh Street underwent a thorough reconstruction in spring 2013. During the process “ShockPad Elite” shock absorbing underlay as well as “Graboplast Spring Air Elite” surface-elastic sports parquet were installed on 1200m². This sports parquet system has been designed for sports halls hosting team ball sport events, but it is equally suitable for dances as well. The foremost benefit of the shock absorbing underlay is that the system efficiently reduces the load on the athletes' joints and cartilages. To top the whole work of the court, it was given a standard basketball, handball and volleyball lineage.

In recent years the sports hall has been in the limelight due to basketball. The facility seating 1500 spectators, in case of full house, has witnessed not only the top Hungarian teams, but those arriving from abroad too.

The hall serves as permanent home to the several-time Hungarian National Champion badminton team too. Moreover different sport, cultural as well as social events, national and international tournaments are also organized here.
